New Spyder Headlights!

Hey guys! I installed these Spyder headlights.

I am quite happy with the looks. With a few complaints. First of all, the DRL function only works if you have parking lights set on manually. A minor inconvenience, but not a huge deal. However, the LEDs are quite dim in the day, making it a little pointless to even turn on. They do look good.

But my BIGGEST complaint is the way it was advertised on CARid. The pictures advertised displayed these as having HID/Xenon bulbs in the projector. But when I installed these, I discovered halogen bulbs were installed. Not too upset since they arent bad, but I am upset that I was misled. I know the focus doesnt have an HID setup, but I was thinking that the complex wiring in these headlights had an HID ballast somewhere. But I suppose not. Anyway, what do you guys think? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Well you asked for opinions...

Chinese headlights option for MK3 are the worse... polycarbonate lenses spider cracking with time. Fogging badly after a while.

Projector output being substandard (because they are designed for Halogen NOT HID) compared to Morimoto or OEM ones.

The pros... it's cheaper than OEM set

They are many complains on the forum about them.

IMO I would either bought the ST3 lights or do a proper retrofit to OEM headlights.

I just looked at a website for the st3 lights. You are telling me I wasted my money on these and wouldve gotten a better deal if I consolidated this forum and then made a purchase?

EDIT: These cost me 430+ dollars. Looking at protuninglab and Im probably going to bed in tears...

It took them almost three years to start rolling out products for the mk3s, we have many days ahead in waiting

3.5s have these though, wish we had similar. 2pcs for 2015-UP Ford Focus Headlight Head Led drl bi xenon projector Lamp RH+LH | eBay

But taillights are a bust.

I've seen Spyders be great and I've seen them be terrible, it's a gamble.

These two are on my radar. I like the clear lower part over amber.

ST3 2015+ should fit on the MK3.5

Headlihht connector has to be reconfigured but its easier than installing HID with relay kit. They come with the ballast.

They are sexy...

How do you guys like the 3.5? Is it better to drive than the Mk3? Personally, I think it LOOKS better. But I have never been behind the wheel in that one before. But I always wonder, how is the transmission in the 3.5? How do you guys feel about the car? Maybe I am a little spoiled in this case cause I forgot that little to no options are out for the 3.5.
