Manual transmission oil change help!!

Can't find anything on the search bar for my car or google. All I find is older Focus manual transmission changes. Anyone can give me the link? Can't find the drain or fill plug. I found one but don't know which it is lol. Front of the engine with the hex tool needed

Mk1/Mk2/MK3 it's the same MTX-75... except the SVT which have the Getrag 6spd IIRC.

Make absolutely sure you can get the fill plug out before you remove the drain plug or you could end up with an inoperable car.

WARNING! Do not drain the oil until you can make a tool to fill it.
I had the MTX-75 in my 1999 Contour SVT.
The point is the only way to fill it is with a long tube with a funnel at the top. That 'fill' plug is not 'on top'. it is ON THE SIDE. You fill until the juice is to the bottom of the fill plug hole.
I made a tool out of a piece of thin walled aluminum tubing, small enough diameter to fit into the 'fill' hole. Then added a bit of flexible tubing to connect the metal tube to a funnel. Worked great. I could drop the setup down from topside. Then fit the end of the metal tube into the fill hole. a rag around the funnel kept it 'up' and in place.

you could also use a large 'turkey baster' (from kitchen stuff) to fill the transmission after emptying it.

The is no way in Hell to just 'pour it in' !!!! Plan ahead.
Arco-Zakus and wavsine like this.

You can use any sort of tube. i used an old rubber bicycle tube with a funnel on top. Just gotta make sure it stays in there. REALLY helps to have an assistant for this one.

My experience with the MTX-75 in my Ford SVT Contour was thus:
The first transmission oil change at 5K miles: huge amount of super ultra tiny metallic particles in the drained fluid.
They flashed in the fluid in waves.
After the very first change never anything noticeable.

Have to say the best fluid is the Ford stuff. Everything else is a problem in cold weather.

I owned the car for 110,000 miles.

Oh trust me I looked around couldn't find anything cheaper lol. That new dual clutch whatever it's called. I did find cheaper online but after shipping it was about the same. Only saved a few dollars wasn't worth waiting another weekend to do it.
Car has 101k miles. I'll test it out later when I take off to work. Also free of charge is a swollen ring finger that came out of this work I did to it
