Talking Smoked tail lights

I decided to smoke out my tail lights and I couldn't really find the best way to do it so this is what I came up with.

I went to the auto parts and got VHT, this is only brand my auto parts provided and they said it had the best results.

I went to Home Depot and got a role of plastic, rolled it over and tapped it.

I then Cut out the lights and tapped it thoroughly.

Then applied one coat.

However works for ya.

Looks like you kept it off the car.

Moved this to the MkIII Mods section though, still doesn't look like an Interior Mods item...

I don't agree with tinting the tail lights, but why not just take them off the car instead of masking off the entire back half?

Why not? And because I did it at 6:30 at night and didn't want to go through taking off the tail lights and everything

Because it decreases the light output of the light. And it's not DOT legal. That is why it has a warning about off road use only on the can.

do you like your car?

Why would somebody increase their risk of being rear-ended...

Yeah looks nice but... people already have attention problems on the road... the one distracted which will not react to your now darker tail lights will result in an insurance claim that might be declined because of modifications in regards to safety.

Just saying...

Proper smoked lense.

Niteshades is a terrible product, I refuse to sell it to customers.

If you absolutely want to diminish your light output, go to a body shop, and have them put some black pigment in some clear coat. It's worse when people do their headlights.

Side note, swap to LEDs it'll help make you more visible.
