What cruise control?

Hi everyone. Late last year, I bought a 2016 Ford Focus. It's the very basic model - so basic, there's no cruise control. I've been trying to find what aftermarket CC I can get; Ford can fit one for $650 but I'm trying to not spend quite that much. All the CC modules I've found online state it needs to be an S trim, which I'm pretty sure I don't have.

Does anyone have any advice on which one to buy and/or any fitting advice? Are they easy to fit or should I get a professional? I'm ok with electronics but not that great with cars.

Thanks!!!

I think they dropped the S designator not long ago. So yours is probably an S without the "S" if that makes sense.

It's possible to add factory cruise for the cost of a steering wheel and possibly a small pigtail. I've done it on mine.

I think there was some debate as to whether or not it would work on an "S" model, so you may want to do some reading and make sure.
Official Genuine Cruise Control Update...

Good luck!

My 2014 'S' didn't say 'S' on the back. If yours doesn't say SE, SEL, Titanium, etc. then you have an 'S'.

The thread: Official Genuine Cruise Control Update... contains all the info you need to add cruise. I posted in that thread and I will confirm that yes, you can add cruise to an 'S' model. It's so much nicer to have the buttons on the steering wheel than to add an aftermarket extra stick with buttons on it. If you get the steering wheel with radio buttons, they will work too! Cost me less than US $150 total, including a Chinese knock off Elm327.

Once completed, it will be exactly like factory. The display where your odometer is will tell you if the cruise is on, and what speed it's set for.

I put the cruise control on the 2015 focus, and if there are any questions - write to me

Thank you everyone, guys. So here's a picture of my current steering wheel. Part of my concerns is making sure I get the right wheel replacement, plus also having the balls to take the old one off and put the new one on :-)
