So the kit would work on any Mk3, not just ST (as the kit appears to be intended for STs...)? That was the question.

The Ford kit can be had for about $480, which is a steal if you ask me!

No, in the rear the hubs are held in with four bolts, you "simply" unbolt the hub to remove the drum backing plate, and then reattach.

If you follow the link I posted you can read through the instructions.

Cannot believe that Ford would use drum brakes in the 21st century.

Forgot the backing plate part numbers...

Getting ready to do this to my 2012 S... Good job on getting all the parts but I noticed you left out the backing plates.

backing plate with rear disk P/N AV6Z2C028A QTY 2

Also planning to use these rotors and pads: POWER STOP K5977 Z23 Evolution Sport; Incl. Hardware Click Info for full list of components. Rockauto.com has a kit that includes front and rear rotors and pads if you want better than OEM and a matched set of pads and rotors all the way around.... They have everything you need on the list except the caliper bracket bolts and the backing plates... Total price comes out to $699.60 USD. (caliper bracket bolts and backing plates sourced from tascaparts.com)

Now all I gotta do is get off my butt, get the parts ordered and do the conversion... procrastination is my biggest enemy...

First thing check out the guide made by Spinner here -->> http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/m...onversion.html

and there's another one made by SPRAYPAINT here -->Mk3 rear drum to disc brake conversion

  • 1x LH REAR DISC CALIPER -> #BRCF352
  • 1x RH REAR DISC CALIPER -> #BRCF353

  • 2x REAR CALIPER SPRING CLIP -> #CV6Z2A225A
  • 4x REAR CALIPER MOUNTING BOLTS -> #W700684S442

For the pads (did both front and rear), i've use the following parts:
  • 1x HAWKS HPS CERAMIC PADS FRONT -> #HB519 F.682
  • 1x HAWKS HPS CERAMIC PADS REAR -> #HB478 F.605

Extras Parts not needed for the conversion but might have to change if damaged :
  • 2x FRONT DISC ROTORS -> #BRRF320
  • 2x REAR HUBS WITH ABS SENSOR -> #HUB246
  • 8x E14 TORX HUB BOLTS -> #W715064S442
