weird vibration only between idle speed and like 900 rpms.

I installed the electric focus motor mount a few months ago, didn't have any problems except it seems now that it's approaching 0 degrees F out. Anyone else with a similar thing. It's just a rumbly, rougher vibration in that little rpm range. It's totally normal at idle and anything over 1000 rpm atleast.

It's just weird, almost like something resonates just right at that certain vibration.

Was the new motor mount OEM? A colder engine may exhibit more vibration.. possibly making a bad motor mount more noticeable..

I don't think so honestly. It looked damn near identical but I bought it from the ebay link that was going around here in various e focus mount threads. Where's the best place to buy the oem e focus mount online?

Okay, I would recommend purchasing an OEM motor mount from Ford.

Ford OEM: Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com
Ford Performance: Focus Parts - Ford Racing Performance Parts
Steeda Focus: Ford Focus Parts & Performance - Steeda Autosports - Free Shipping!
FSWERKS: FSWERKS | Parts for Ford Focus, Fiesta, Fusion, Escape and Mustang

Cheap(er) knockoff parts are not very high quality.. And it's not uncommon for one to fail after only one mile.. I would only recommend OEM or any other high quality aftermarket part from a reputable company.

It's the DCT.

I don't have the DCT, I have a 5speed. Thanks for the link, I'll swap to an oem e focus mount. I just thought since many on here bought from that ebay seller that it was an oem mount. Once I received it I had doubts.

Awesome, OEM is the way to go.. Snap some photos of the two mounts side-by-side once you pull it out..

I would think a stiffer mount would transmit more of the engine's vibrations, no? Inline 4s aren't inherently balanced.

you are going to get more vibes when it's cold. I have the rear motor mount and passenger mount upgraded with poly mounts and it's definitely more noticeable in the cold weather.

It just seemed overly excessive for what's supposed to be a rubber mount. When it's really cold and noticeable it sounds like I have a rice cannon exhaust. It resonates just right. Good news is it does go away after its all warmed up. Don't think the mount is bad, just has some stiff rubber. Might stick with it until spring by then it'll be warming up. Anyone notice the actual oem e focus mount being real stiff in the cold?
