Annoying rubbing/rattling sound in b-pillar

It's been ages and ages since I've been active here. I used to have a 2006 ZX5, but after a detour through Toyota land I'm back with a 2015 SE hatchback. I'm really loving this car except for one minor annoyance... Now that the weather is cooling off I seem to have developed a rubbing or rattling sound in the b-pillar, somewhere around where the seat belt attaches. It wouldn't be so bad except that it is right next to my left ear!

I've tried quieting it by playing with the seat belt height adjuster, and by sticking in some little cardboard shims where I thought the sound was coming from, but nothing I've done has really silenced it yet. Does anyone else have this problem? Can you help me figure it out?

Thanks...

I have that. And in the dashboard. I guess I'm going back to the dealer, lol.

Same issue here. Messing with the belt height adjuster sometimes helps; I suspected it was getting jostled when I shut the door. But I'm not certain what it really is.

Interesting. 2015 here too and I have/had it. I put lubricant on the door seals and that seems to have fixed it. I had the same problem with my old 2000 BMW 3-Series.

Specifically here, and the plastic and rubber pieces on the door which contact this area.

Interesting... I hadn't thought about it being outside the door like that. I'll give that a try. What kind of lubricant did you use?

I used "DuPont Teflon Silicone Lubricant". It's labeled as being safe on rubber. Give it a shot, or something else rubber safe.

I determined my issue was door seal related because when driving down the road I could grab the window channel area and pull the door inward and the sound would stop.

This stuff:

Looks like there's and aerosol version too.
