Dct jumped out of gear today

On my way to work today, cruising at 45mph and out of nowhere I feel the car lose power and start revving like it had been put in neutral. Never happened before and kinda has me worried. I thought I was one of the lucky ones and got a trouble free dct....

TCM

Can be very dangerous if it fails in traffic. Ford should issue a recall on this but the bean counters would rather wait and see if anybody gets killed. I'll say it again, loss of transmission engagement in traffic can be as dangerous as loss of brakes. This is likely on NHTSA's radar.

Luckily I wasn't turning into traffic or anything like that. I do recall it acted strangely a while back turning on a hill at a red light... Like it engaged but disengaged and then reengaged within a second. Shrugged it off as dct quirkiness.

Have you had a chance to speak with your dealer, RyanFromSC?

I'll be happy to look into some additional assistance; what's your mileage?

Same thing happened to me. They put in a new TCM under the extended warranty that they put out for the DCT. They kept my car for a day or two, but paid for a rental for me.

Once you get the new one or update give in a few weeks to relearn your driving. Mine took around 5k miles.

Haven't talked to a dealer yet. I'm overdue for my 10k service so I was going to mention it when I have that done. Current mileage is around 11500? I believe.

Was it a frequent occurrence for you?

Took the car in today for "the works." Forgot to mention it jumping out of gear but the service desk guy told me they needed to do a recall on the TCM? I'll be keeping an eye on this thing. On my way home I noticed the clock in the display was stuck at a certain time. Tried to change it and it won't. Guess updating trans computer affects the clock? That one has me lost.

Looking at my paperwork closer, they applied Recall #15B22. I also contacted the dealer about the clock issue. The service desk guy said it's a known glitch (I've yet to find proof of that anywhere) and to change the date in the computer, but that isn't working as it won't let me change that either. Guess I'll be driving back across town sometime so they can fix it.
