2014 stock maxima vs 2014 modded focus

Thought everyone might like to see this. Make sure you read the description as there were two scenarios I ran the maxima in and mods to my focus are listed there.

Format is a split screen of the instrument cluster of both cars doing 0-50 at different times and same driver. No street racing and the speed limit was 45.

Let me know your thoughts!!

The maxima is a CVT and the focus is a 6 speed DCT.

I'm pretty sure the cvt was giving me motion sickened. So many years of having a car shift and then when the car accelerates and doesn't shift my mind can't comprehend it. Lol

^^ For reals.

Nissan is poop. The only worthwhile thing they've done in the last decade was make the GTR.

I agree. This is probably the best cvt I've driven and I still hate it.
Reminds me of a slipping clutch.

On a focus forum AN ECONOMY CAR, and bashing the entire of Nissan, and saying the only thing they have produced recently that was worthwhile is the 100K+ GTR?

Let's just start with the the Nissan Silvia S15, Nissan 350Z and 370Z, Nissan Qashqai. Then we will completely forget that it's only really on this continent you get ripped off for an Infiniti instead of it just being the Nissan everywhere else (which are awesome vehicles)... i.e. the FX35 is based on the 350Z floor pan etc.

Maybe it's just me that's become a car fan, rather than a one brand fanboy like I used to be. I appreciate car's for what they are, unless they are total trash lol.

CVT still has a long way to go until it becomes decent though. You should read up on how hard they are to make.

-------------

Anyway... what engine is in the Maxima please? (A car I actually really like and was considering getting, but the focus is just so much more practical.)
Arco-Zakus and FFhb13 like this.

3.5 litre v6. I like and don't like it. For the price I would probably do a fiST or an FoST. It was a "bad" car by any means. Pretty numb driving experience. Soft suspension, soft steering, monochrome interior. Like seriously just all black everything.

I wouldn't be disappointed to drive it, but my focus is way more fun to drive.

I don't think Nissan as a brand is bad, but not what I would be looking for. I think Infiniti would be more of a drivers brand. Nissan has had their share of amazing cars, but you can definitely see them shifting of to Infiniti as their perfornace brand.
