First Up Close Look 2016 Focus (oops - 2015)

Well I just got my very first up close look at the 2016 Focus and I gotta tell you I much prefer the look of my 2012 hatch; I mean hands down, no comparison as far as I'm concerned. They took a bold aggressive design and emasculated it.
Sorry but I like mine much better. Keep it shined just like new and side by side it beats the hell out of the new one.
I'm at 56k after a D series tranny replacement and couldn't be happier.

If you saw a 2016 Focus then you must have gone through a wormhole on Interstellar. If you meant the 2015, then I agree with you. Ford's attempt to homogenize their line with an out of place Fusion grille missed the mark. The tail lights also no longer fit the rear end, leaving the fuel filler door looking out of place. Much of this has to do with whether you like the Fusion grille in the first place. I find it hideous while many people adore it. It at least fits the larger Fusion but did not scale well on the Focus. The Fiesta looks even more ridiculous with that grille. The only thing that will matter to Ford are the sales numbers and we will have to wait and see how 2015 sales go.

Down each of the last three months. And incentives are already up to MY 2014 levels. Not a good sign for the refresh.

2015, 2014
January 18,478 12,003
February 14,019 15,926
March 20,497 23,974
April 18,100 19,104

And before anyone spouts off about car sales declining overall due to declining gas prices:

"In a declining passenger car market, U.S. sales of compact cars grew faster than the overall industry in April 2015, rising 6% to more than 190,000 units."

I went down this past weekend to buy a 2014 and ended up buying a new 2015. Next to each other in my opinion the 2014 just looked old and outdated inside and out. Not to mention the new gray they're using on the 2015s is much nicer than on the 2014s. All a matter of opinion though.

I predict that when the 2016s do arrive, you will feel a sense of deja vu.

Just like me. Which is why I look less out of place in my 2014 than I would in a 2015. ;)

Retooling costs way too much to abandon the refresh that quickly.
