Ford cuts Focus production

Looks like the low fuel prices have cut into Focus (and all smaller cars) sales

I doubt it will last long as I have seen gas prices going back up.

What doesn't help as back in the fall when gas prices started to fall news articles basically said to go buy SUV's because of the lower prices. Now that they are going back up it will swing back the other way, imho.

People tend to repeat their mistakes.

Someone should put out a TV ad encouraging people to support terrorism by purchasing an SUV for a single child home. Actually, the Saudis can afford to keep oil prices down as low as the cost of supply- it's the other oil exporters who can't afford it- like ISIS, Russia, Iran, and the USA.

Because the CDN dollar is weak compared to USD ... and guess what the fuel is traded in USD.. so the price increase!!!

I wish CDN goes in parity again with the USD soon.... I almost stopped buying online because of this...

I have a 3 week motorcycle trip from Montreal to Los Angeles... gas is cheaper in the US but the exchange rate is gonna kill my bank account this summer loll

This is one thing I don't get it. Price gas are down, let buy more expsensive car. The payment they make every month is probably higher in term of difference against a regular car even with low gas, this is plain stupid. And, one day, the gas will go up and you'll be stuck with a big SUV...

People are jumping on the bridge into the river, let do it!!

Nope, just the Focus. Focus had the greatest drop in March besides the Jetta. Corolla, Elantra, Sentra and Forte all gained. The Civic had only a slight drop.

The Sentra, after a long time behind Focus sales, finally topped the Focus in March despite universally bad magazine reviews.

The Dart and Golf rose 56% and 133% respectively!

The Focus and Jetta are just not generally viewed favorably by the small car shopper, for reasons we could debate endlessly on here.

Whatever ... even if the Focus is not the king of the hill... as long as it still produced I'm happy!
