I have the same noise, it only has 200 kms on it. I'll be visiting the dealer to chat about it. However, I'm going to ask the salesman I worked with to start another 2014 so I can have a full-on comparison. I also think its a pulley, we'll see.

Trying to not hijack the thread. Here's my noise, I'm guessing it's the same for some of you?

Hi John.0,

I'll be happy to look into this further. Please send me a private message with your VIN, updated mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location.

It does sound like a mechanical noise, or kind of like metal sliding on metal without a lubricant in between them. I was picking up my license plates the other day and asked a service adviser about it while I was there and he didn't seem worried at all. He said his guess was the transmission or clutch breaking in since it's still a new car. Although I want to believe him, I'm thinking it's probably what the Ford Service user posted above when they said "You may hear mechanical noises when driving."

Also, I was at a baseball game the other night and another MK3 drove passed me with the same noise so I didn't feel as bad. I'm chalking this one up to the "meh" category. If it gets worse I'll bring 'er in.
Keep me in the loop if you decide to head in, Petrie141.

Visiting the dealer is a great first step, Duhamel. I'll see how to help on my end. Please send me a PM with the VIN, dealer, your full name, and your best daytime phone number.

HaHa thats funny. My 2014 focus has had that noise since I bought it and I've hear it but never really bothered to check it out. My focus is pushing 50k now. Almost 5k miles in two months time.

I am also having the same issue as most are describing and can hear it during idle and acceleration but most noticeably when my engine revs high before a shift it gets louder as the RPMs get higher. It's not the DCT I can promise that. I have brought it to two ford dealerships now and neither can hear what I am(shocker) and me told me to bring it back before 100k incase it's gotten worse. Well with the warmer weather coming soon hopefully, I want to be able to cruise with the windows open and not feel embarrassed of his horrible noise coming from my brand-used car. I have checked the tensioner pulley and bearing and that seems to be fine so far. I have yet to remove the belt and run the car to see if it goes away. I have a feeling it's the clutch in the a/c compressor but I'm not that handy to play with it and refuse to pay 120$/hr for the mechanics to say they cannot find a problem with my car. This sucks and a horrible taste is left in my mouth when it comes to Ford now. I'm really hoping someone can steer my in the right direction. I will try and upload a video or sound clip of the noise if my phone can capture it. Thanks in advance if anyone replies to me. I'm new to the forum so maybe Pm me if u have any tips incase I miss them in the thread here. Thanks.

Hey guys. Here's a clip of the noise my car is making on passenger side behind wheel. It's the pulley where the two belts are on the same pulley. Not sure what it's called and cannot find a diagram that answers my question. Hope someone has advice. Thanks in advance
