Question Ran out of gas in my 2012ti

Well not me ... my daughter. Because the new Focus does not have a gas cap, like many new Fords, it makes it almost impossible to fill it with gas with a regular gas can with out the orange special "nozzle". (Not sure if it is actually called a "nozzle")The nozzle came with our 2014 Expedition, but not our 2012 Focus.

Does anyone know if Ford will provide the "nozzle" to people that bought early models of cars with out a gas cap and did not receive the "nozzle"?

Nozzle came with my 2012 and 2014 Foci... Is located under rear cargo area near spare... Is actually not orange, but white in the Focus... I am pretty sure yours should have one seeing as it is a higher trim than mine... Just look for it under there... I believe the first time I pulled mine out it was actually attached to that foam block with the jack parts under the spare.

It is not there :( I was one of the first to take delivery of a 2012+.

Its nice to see that you love the '12 so much you got a '14. Despite a bunch of "obstacles" I still love the Focus!

My 2012 Focus SE was built in July 2011 and it had the white funnel. All the Focus's should have had them unless they just made a mistake with yours and didn't include it.

The OEM part is listed simply as Funnel. Part # 8U5Z 17B068-B

I've seen them on Ebay .........

Yes is definitely standard equipment. Yours not having it is a mistake, too bad you had to wait till you needed it to find out. Good luck!

My 2012 was built in April of 2012 and had one... They must have forgotten yours... I do love these cars... Went from my '12 Tuxedo Black to a '14 Ingot Silver... And am hoping to talk my fiancee into a '15 Performance Blue or Blue Candy this fall.

..... and if you want the locking gas cap, it's part # 8U5Z-9C268-B

I think the same cap fits all the new Ford cars and trucks. I bought one for my 2011 Fiesta and when I bought my Focus I used the same one.

I think the whole capless filler thing was a stupid idea. You need the funnel if you add any gas additives such as HEET. If you try to pour a bottle of an additive in the filler tube without the funnel, it will go down a bypass instead and leak right out onto the ground.

Another thing, if you still fell under the 5 year 60, you could have had Ford roadside assistance come and give her some gas~
