Keypad and key problem

I have an original key. It works. I have a spare key that I bought off eBay designed for the 2012 Focus. I programmed the FOB and it will unlock the doors but not start the car. I noticed that the door keypad doesn't respond the factory code. It works because the lights are on but it doesn't register the code. The dealer told me once I reprogrammed the eBay key, the code is gone and needs to be replaced. They quoted me 500 bucks to get everything squared away.

I have a working key. Starts the car, FOB works, etc. I have an eBay key. Doesn't start the car, FOB does work. Door keypad doesn't work.

Is there a way where I can reprogram the eBay key to start the car? Is there a way where I can reprogram the keypad? Do I have to take it back to the dealer? I've read disconnecting the battery may reset things.

Should I just say screw the keypad and be satisfied with the working FOB? What do you guys think?

Moved this to the MkIII section, I've seen more answers on programming door pads & E-bay keys in this area.

A dealer or independent shop with the right equipment can program the immobilizer part of the key. It isn't something you can do yourself. All that is assuming the ebay key can actually work. I see all kinds of useless crap sold on ebay, like car keys, that won't work...won't program. That is way they are on ebay.
