I also drive low miles per year.
I tend to agree with the once a year spec. if the miles are not high enough for a required oil change.
The fact a low miles per year car almost always has only short trips means the oil has more contaminants in it
(long trips burn them away. Short trips do not)
So I go with the once a year oil change. Though 12 months is not neccessary the exact spacing.
I am pretty much going to change mine again (myself) in April or May. When I did the last on a year ago in February.
So I am in the 14 month sort of change I would say.
With only 4K miles.. that is way below the miles, but a little over the time.
I sort of adjust as I have indoor parking. So my ride is not below zero all winter, and i never have to cold start in sub freezing temps! (How I come to that conclusion affecting the one year timing do not ask.) I just checked my oil recently and it is still pretty 'golden' with only some grey/black tinge, when looked at on the paper towel. Still smells right. No gasoline smell, no burnt smell.
