Talking MS3 Coilovers

I know there have been multiple threads on this subject, but have we come to a verdict?

http://www.racelandus.com/coilovers/...coilovers.html

Will these coilovers fit my MK3? If so I'm buying them right now. Beats the $900 ksport coilovers, even if I have to do a bit of modding to them. PLEASE answer this question for me.

If I recall I remember Chewie12 saying something about how he has MS3 ksport coilovers on his MK3, curious as if this is accurate, what year, and if they really are reliable....

I would really like to know if this is an option as well. The price is awesome. It's too bad they don't have anything specifically for our cars yet. Wonder if they've got any planned...

what do you mean anything specifically yet? There are plenty of coilovers for the MK3 focus, but they range from $880-$2,500

Concerned about quality... interested in Raceland coilovers. Okay.

Look on the parts list thread. There's an enormous range of coilovers for this car, from KSport, D2, BC Racing, H&R, Bilstein, ST by KW, and KW.

My most recent experience with Racelands are another member's WRX. I saw them in person before he finished the install, and about a week later he already seemed to regret them. All reports I've heard are that they're fairly fragile.

Expect to pay $1,000 for a decent coilover, that's pretty much the price of admission barring any particular special deals.

The only reason the MK3 coilovers are expensive is because its a new car. Maybe I dont have to buy Raceland MS3's or my MK3, but id rather buy a cheaper set of MS3 coilovers for my Focus then spending at least $1K+ on a decent set for the MK3.

Not really. Look at the prices for aftermarket suspension for many other cars that get modded in enthusiast circles which have been out for 5, 10, even 15 years. That's a poor rationalization, because it's based on the idea that because replacement parts are generally expensive on brand-new cars, aftermarket pieces must follow the same economies of scale. The R&D cost is baked-in; you're not going to see a significant drop in price unless one of those companies mysteriously is able to produce their product for much cheaper (i.e. lowering their production standards/moving production to a place with cheaper labor).
