Talking Plasmaglow Lightning Eyes Kit

I decided to give the Plasmaglow Lightning Eyes kit a try.

Installation was pretty simple but I took my time doing it in order to keep the wiring clean and professional looking. I used a simple "Add-a-Circuit" fuse tap and used the slot for the rear wiper in the fuse box under the hood. The wiper and the DRL's are on separate fuses.

The LED strips fit underneath the headlamp lenses. I simply removed the lenses, cleaned the surface, and stuck them on. They come 19" long but can be cut to desired length at cut points.

The cost for everything including fuse tap and wire was about $45.

I really love the results! In person they are less of a blob of light and more of a nice clean series of individual LED's...15 on each side. I'll take a photo during the day so that can be seen. They are very bright in the daylight as well and really serve the purpose of LED DRL's well. They do have a slight blue hue to them which I tried to capture in the photos. The color temperature is probably about 8000k rather than a pure white of 6000k.

...and there were a few visitors having a snack across the street :)

Can you put them on top instead? Just personal preference.

I'd have to look but I believe if there is a big enough gap up above for them, yes. The LED strips are really thin and flexible, so they can pretty much mold to whatever you stick them to. If you do go for the top I'd say to stick them to the hood rather than the headlamp housing so as not to damage the lens in any way -- if there is enough of a gap between the hood and the lens.

They look sharp. I always like an upgrade that looks good and adds to safety with DRL.

I agree...and thanks!

I chose to have them a little shorter in length and started them a little off the center of the turn signals to keep the signals (and upper marker light/reflectors) from being washed out at night as these are very bright. The angle of the headlights makes them visible from all the necessary angles.

They look great. I like these:http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Switch-Back...e_strip_5d.htm
Can work like an Audi and turn yellow with turn signals.

Love this!!!
But I believe I'll go with dbsimms63 on the color changing set to also use as turn signals.
Nice budget mod that looks good.
