I made my dealer take off the stripe before I bought it. Pin stripes belong on suits, not cars.

What color did they put on yours? I couldn't imagine them on a black Focus.

The pinstripe is just below the windows. Not big, but noticeable.

Newbie here. . . . . .

So we bought a Ford Focus SE last night and will pick it up tonite, and we got stuck with the dealer "option" pinstripe. We are ok with a pinstripe, but it's gold on the silver metallic "ingot" and it just doesn't look right. We told them to remove it, but they said they don't like to because sometimes it could show some fading near where the pinstripe is. We are in Phoenix and the sun can be pretty brutal. So.....

Trying to determine if I should remove the pinstripe and take chances with some fading near the pinstripe, or have them put on a different color pinstripe where the gold one is.

Does anyone think I need to be concerned about difference in paint color due to fading? Any good opinions on what color pinstriping to replace the gold with?

Doubtful it would make a difference, especially if it's a new car.

PS the owner of the black car pictured should make the dealer take off the ugly chrome wheelcovers too.

The paint is new and "fresh"... you can remove it... you won't see the difference. If you wait too much, you will...
