Headlight assembly question

A few weeks ago I received a letter from Ford informing me of a recall on my headlights. Something about how they didn't comply with Ontario road laws - it got a bit technical for me. The entire headlight assembly was replaced today at my dealer.

On my way home from work tonight I discovered my turn signals were not functioning. Once I pulled into my driveway, I took a look at the lights and discovered why they weren't working. They forgot to put the bulbs in! My normal lights and the LED brows work but there is no bulb in the turn signal or high beam slots.

My question is, will having no bulb in them allow moisture to get behind the lenses? Maybe I don't understand the construction of these parts, but from what I'm gathering is that the inside of the lamp is now exposed to the elements, which could be bad as we're reaching the freezing point where I live.

Do I need to demand new lamps from my dealership?

Any ford service reps care to chime in?

Yeah, no need for the tech to waste time by checking your lights after the repair was completed.

Someone needs to take some heat for this.

I'd say you won't have any problems. The headlights are vented anyways to the outside anyways so a little time with the sockets open shouldn't hurt the lights.

That said, since the dealer forgot to even put the bulbs in, it may be worth replacing them anyways.

you need to take it back and get the bulbs put in, that sounds like a big mistake on their part.

Pretty sure the headlight is sealed. There is a cap on the bottom that needs to be removed to change the turn signal lights. Unless they forgot to replace the cap as well.

They replaced my bulbs and I see no signs of moisture behind the lense. The recall also has changed them so the LED brows are the only active DRL lights.

Luckily I was able to get some Chemical Guys M Seal on them before the rain started today.
