Front motor mounts

There are times when my car idles like a Harley with a fouled plug. I know in general that direct injection engines have a somewhat rougher idle, but I am wondering if mine is normal or not. At a traffic light I can feel it shaking through my legs and the seat and my car has a lot of interior rattles as a result.

If I check the front motor mounts for issues, what specifically should I be looking for? Photo of passenger motor mount below. Driver's side seems tough to see from above.

The engines move a crazy amount in the mk3 focus. That's why so many people are useing an after market rear motor mount.

Yeah, I had read through that thread, but I was under the impression that is a different issue than vibration at idle.

From what I have read a tune will smooth out the idle. Someone light the Tom signal!

Thanks . . . but . . . if checking the front motor mounts, what specifically do I want to look for?

Look along the strut tower behind and below the mount. If it has gone bad there will most likely be oil splattered along it.

Roger that. Thank you.

Please move the thread out of the performance section. I realize now I probably put it in the wrong place.

I edited my post. Apparently my phone changed the word 'behind'.

Infraction for posting in the wrong area. You know better.

Moved to Mk3 area due to general question.

I put the Cobb RMM in my focus and it stiffens the engine movement a lot. The only thing is when you put the car in reverse to back up their is a lot of vibration. Even with the vibration I love having the RMM installed into the vehicle.
