Keep in mind that with the low-profile 18" wheels, you're going to be subject to more drift than those of us with smaller wheels. I test drove a Ti with the 18s, and there was a noticeable difference in its sense of straight-ahead.

True - the low-profile tires have weird tramlining quirks. But my car tracks kind of weird even with my 15" winter tires.

I wouldn't put all the blame on the 18in tires. :P My Ti tracks with just the slightest hint of left at highway speeds.

@PratoN Does your ride get any quieter when you put your winter tires on? I'm wondering what percentage of the road noise I'm getting, which isn't a crazy amount to begin with, is the 18in low profile summer tires?

Significantly.

Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't have splurged and just got 16" rims with a softer suspension and a full-sized trunk. Oh well...

But the 5 spokes look so amazing! :p

Not sure if this is the same thing or not but on my Mother's TL we had all kinds of ride noise/quality issues until we put more expensive low profiles on. The cheap to midrange ones just didn't ride well at all. I am hoping that a nice set of all-season 18in tires will help me out a lot. Have to wait until next fall for that though.

Ahh, my apologies.

Maybe your car was dropped on its head during manufacturing?

ISSUE

Some 2012 Focus vehicles built on or before 12/12/2011 may exhibit a steering wander at highway speeds over 72 Km/h (45 MPH). Customers may indicate they have to frequently adjust the steering wheel slightly to maintain the direction of travel.

Yes. That's exactly what it does. Maybe I'll take a video tonight while I'm at it and you guys can tell me if I'm being crazy or if my alignment/steering rack really is bad.

I thought maybe it's toe out and one wheel tries to be straight at all times which would make sense that it never tracks straight? But that's just a hunch.

I don't know how you feel about having other people work on your vehicle, but I know that when I was having problems with my Sentra driving straight (may that car burn in hell for the rest of eternity), I took it to Pep Boys.
They'll do a an alignment check for free, and the shop here in Springfield was very nice to me.

If they alignment is off, it's only something like ~50-60 to have a four-wheel alignment done. Just my two cents.
