The oddities of MK3 Focus interior swaps....

Hey all, I just got done swapping out the interior of my friends 2013 SE power leather interior with my 2012 Ti cloth interior manual interior. I wanted to make a few notes if any one else wants to interior swap and ask a few questions.

The swap for the back seat was very easy, just the 4 bolts that hold down the seat pads on the bottom cushion, and simply unlatching and pulling on the rear setbacks removes them. Only thing you must unbolt with a T50 torx is the center seat belt harness.

The drivers seats including airbag harness are direct plug and play, mine was without power but is a Focus Ti so it was pre wired, with the power port active for the seat.

On the passenger seat (this was weird) there was an extra brown port in addition to the maroon, yellow, and orange wiring plugs. After looking, I saw it was totally just a difference in the seat belts, my 2013 having a belt just like the driver side, while the 2012 had the extra wire merge into the orange connector vs having a brown one. So I simply swapped the seatbelts so they where original to each car. Both cars have full swapped seats and no airbag lights.

Worked great for any one wanting to swap seats on a MK3 its very do able even with the airbags

No focus has a power passenger side, I was actually surprised of all things the power and non power airbag and wiring harnesses where the same but the passenger side was totally different and all having to do with the seatbelt

Could the passenger side have some sort of "global wiring" for right-hand drive models? Or maybe I'm not understanding what you are describing.

this is what I mean the 2013 has an extra plug and wiring for the seatbelt on the passenger side but not the driver side, even though the driver side had power seat. Was an easy swap the ports pop out of the harness like legos
