Extra Pounds? Total weight is just over 1 pound. you add more weight to your front end when you top off your windshield washer fluid...

Bonnet is designed to be dropped from about 6 inches.
Beer = Good

Bonnets are for girls, hoods are for men and they have gas charged struts that raise things.

While watching their instruction video, I noticed that they include a "sticker" with the kit. The "sticker" goes on the underside of the hood where they expect some "possible contact" from the strut with the hood, thus the sticker is supposed to prevent paint damage. This concerns me a bit. A well-designed system should have no contact at all, and if it does, there ought to be something less amateurish for a solution than just a "sticker". I'm also concerned that over time the strut will end up denting the underside of the hood. Not that that's a huge deal, but...

One of the rubber things the hood would push against gets removed. The hood may flex some and vibrate against the strut. No risk of denting hood. Mine were never in constant contact with the hood and the stickers show no wear on them.
