You could get the stick on remote keyless entry pad and stick it inside the fuel door, therefore it's not obvious on the outside of the car, yet you've hidden an external remote on the car without a key, that should be good enough to get you in without finding someone to cut a dummy / dead key.

Leave the key on the beach??
I have an "old fashioned" key for my '05 (equipped with PATS). It will allow entry to the car, and activate everything but the starter motor. It will not unlock the door without putting the key into the lock and turning. But, if you can live with that, you can keep a "normal" PATS equipped key inside the car (glove box, sun visor, under the floor mat, etc. for starting purposes.
