HID install (with DRL, no bulb out error)
hello everyone I know a lot of HID thread have been made in the past but I am making a new one for any canadian focus owner that have DRL and would like to install HID and have NO bulb out error, and also the posibility to completly turn off their headlight without have any bulb out error either, I havent installed mine yet (will do in the upcomming month) but I took a wiring diagrams that I edited for my need, so here it is:

You MUST install your HID kit with a relay harness. If you have DRL or not doesnt matter, if you do not install it the HID will flicker because of the lower voltage used from either DRL or under deceleration of the car because of the lower voltage sent to the headlight circuit which is (9-9.5v) under deceleration.

You also MUST use the resistor if you do not want any Bulb Out error.

The on/off switch is optional for people that would like to turn off the HID completly (because of DRL here in canada) while the car is still running. the way the switch is placed is after the actual resistor, so even with the HID completly turned off you wont get a bulb out error. (its simply cut the signal to the relay which turn everything off, so you can run just with fog light if you want.)

here is the actual resistor assembly that youll need, you will need to order 2 as they come as single unit (select universal fit in the choice box):

and here is the HID kit I will order (55 watts) (Do not add the relay harness option, this harness wont work correctly for the focus):

This is the Relay Harness that youll need (dont forget to select H11 connectors in the box, they give H1 connector by default):

I hope this will help out some of the canadian owner with DRL in here :)

Ill be posting picture of my HID installed when im done but for now I havent bought anything.
