So my passenger side rear seat back (40% split side) release button appears to be stuck down about an inch, and the seat back will not lock into position.
Anyone else run into this? I'll have the dealer look at it when I get my first oil change, but I wanted to see if this was something easy to get resolved before they ham-fist it up and screw up my car.

This may sound dumb, but is the seatbelt in the way preventing it from not locking?

Exactly. Often the outboard shoulder belts get in the way when locking the rear seat backs into position. Simply have to push the belt out of the way. The release button should reset as the seatback clicks back into position.

Nope, seatbelt is hanging off to the side, tried to check from the interior and from the trunk area to look for any obstructions. Nothing.
Just kinda fishing around to see if anyone else experienced the same and had some insight. I'll double check the latch mechanism. If it's anything like the doors, they can be manually moved to latched position, and the door will not close unless you move it back to the receiving position. I thought my sister broke the damned thing when she though she was adjusting the child lock position of one of the rear doors. [facepalm]

I had the same problem. The steel loop attached to the body was angled upwards too much, causing misalignment with the latch. It still went into the latch, but same as yours, the latch wouldn't lock. I whacked it with a rubber mallet (not hard enough to bend anything) to re-position it. Works great, now.

On my Titanium, the bezel around the button was mis-shapen, preventing the button from popping back up. Finally, I slammed the seat into position and the bezel flew off. They replaced it under warranty.

I checked the angel compared to the other side. It was very close, but a little off. I made sure the seatbelt was out of the way, popped the cargo cover out of the way, and fiddled with the mechanism inside to make sure it was ready to accept the loop from the chassis.
Then just pushed it into position firmly, not slammed it, just a firm push, and it latched into position and from then on was very easy to release and relatch. The button being literally 1 inch recessed down is apparently normal, which was my biggest concern.
