Keep focus or upgrade to st

I have a 2012 focus with a little over 20k miles and I still owe about 10k on it. I saw a focus st at a dealer the other day and I loved it. Would I be better off trading mine in or upgrading it. Also mine is auto and I would like it to be stick.

If you want a standard, trading in would be the way to go. Not to mention the ST is a vastly different animal compared to a standard Mk3.

Mainly I was looking performance wise which would be a better option to go with, I can live with the auto though

Performance wise there is no comparison between the NA & Turbo. None. Turbo if the answer wasn't evident is the winner.

Probably should have made myself more clear. Would it be better to keep mine and put a turbo kit, intake and exhaust on it and upgrade the suspension or just trade it in.

If those are the things you want to do, trade it or sell it, because some of those options aren't feasible. And tuning isn't an option at this point either.

As of now, most if not all performance mods are for the ST. You can't even get a tune for the MK3 Focus, so if you want performance and want the possibility of upgrading said performance, get the ST.

Without a tune(none available for the MK3 Focus, only for ST) you are very limited in your options...

Where? They don't list a turbo kit for the 2012+ I just checked.

The ST is different in that it has a lowered compression ratio (9.3:1) to be able to run at a peak of 20 psi of boost, not 12:1 like the stock 2.0L GDI.

That's part of why the ST only makes 93 more horse power than the standard Focus.

The 2.0 Duratec available from 2003 - 2011 is very different than the 2.0 DURATEC Ti-VCT(which comes in 2012+)
