It doesn't lock. I'm pretty sure these fuel filler necks can't be syphoned from by normal hoses that gas thieves use, which makes a lock useless,

Nope doesn't lock, requires a special funnel included with every car the size and shape of a gas pump nozzle, but a common gas thief likely wouldn't have this, nor is it easy to siphon, although they could just drill a hole in the tank if that's what you're worried about, although an SUV or car with a larger gas tank might be a more valuable target.

I think I'd be more worried about some a-hole pouring something into my tank. If they want to work that hard for a few gallons of gas, they can have it. But don't pour stuff in my tank. I wish the door locked.

There is a flap on the fuel line that is only closed when a gas pump nozzle or the funnel from Ford is inserted past it in to the filler neck. Otherwise, anything you try to pour in there will bypass the filler neck and just drain on to the ground.

Which is good to know if you ever want to use one of those fuel additives. Use the funnel or waste your money.

You'd only do it so many times before you opened up the manual or came on here! :p

I bought a full filler lock. Ford makes/sells one. i do not want anyone damaging the sealing filler system. If some idiot tries to steal gas and ruins the filler, then i am screwed. And i would not know it till I was near empty.
At least with the lock in place morons are not going to trash the filler seal system.
If they need to drill, i would expect they would pick a tall SUV, way more gas, and easier to reach LOL.

Its plastic, and it seems like it might be easy to break that lockable fuel filler cap, at least that was what I was told by the dealer when I mentioned considering one before ordering the car. It didn't look that substantial a barrier.
