It's gotta be a computer thing and I say that because almost immediately after the temp needle hits the halfway point on the gauge it stops every single time. If your car does that all the time even when the car warms up that can't be normal. The problem I found is the dealer sees so few 5 speeds they didn't know if it was normal or not. They didn't even have another one on the lot to compare too.

This has me wondering. Does my rev hang issue have something to do with open/closed loop? Below is a part of a data log I did for Tom, its a 1>2 shift and a 3>4 shift (in purple), letting both drop to idle. You can see how the revs flatten out before dropping to idle. The orange graph is open loop status, either 0 or 1... I wonder if there is a relation?? This portion of the data log is at the end of a 25 minute drive, so the car is at NOT. Maybe Tom can chime in after seeing this.

One of them are here in Cleveland. Went to a LARGE dealer with ~60 Focuses...Focusi....Foci? and had 2 sticks. One with hubcaps and no frills, and mine, with alloys (since swapped out to 17" Ford sports package rims) and a sunroof. Wish it had the winter package too.....

I searched for about 2 1/2 months looking for a 5speed focus other than the ST or RS. I finally found one 150 miles from where I live. Best dissension I've ever made.

Wow,this is a slow thread with a whole 2 and a half years between posts.

Still loving my 5 speed and no issues with it after 4 years and 30,600 miles.

Good thing too because there will be no 5 speed manual SE trim offered for 2017.

I happened to find my white 2013 SE with the Sport Appearance Package with Navigation in 2014 sitting in the corner new of the lot. The dealer had it for over a year there, and it had 37 miles on it. It had a dead battery, and what was sad the Salesman couldn't drive stick. I am happy I got a manual, and it been a trouble free 54k miles so far.

When I had to take mine in the 2nd time took them 5 min to bring my car. They couldn't get it started. The porters couldn't figure out to push in the clutch to start it. Took the mechanic to start the car. Society is quickly going to have the "wally syndrome"

That's funny that the porters couldn't figure it out.

Most of my coworkers look at me like you drive a stick? I told them I learned to drive on my Dads 1986 Nissan Hard Body Manual with No Power steering about 15 years ago. They tell me it to much effort to learn now.
