Of course that's all speculation. Would be nice to hear from someone who either just got the bracket, or got the whole shifter and just tried to bracket first.
As economically minded as I am, I will side with this thinking. That was my ultimate baseline for purchasing the entire kit.

Ergonomics beat Economics.

Me thinks it's time to fire up the milling machine and thread the handle down farther and see what that does.

Okay. I have installed the shifter and bracket. To be honest the bracket was much more straightforward and other than the awkward positioning of the hands to get the bracket onto the mount, it was a very simple job. seems like a lot of work for a short throw shifter but I don't know much about these things anyways and beside that the bracket is expertly crafted and doesn't worry me at all.

The ACTUAL shifter however was a huge pita. Mostly I had trouble with the spring and getting the shifter yo play nice with the plastic thing that has to sneak by the spring.

Trimming was annoying but I came prepared. I recommend having your windows down and a long barreled lighter next to you. Much easier than trimming the plastic when you can melt it and move your shifter around til it all forms up and out of the way. Or you can take something to just smear the stuff off.

Reassembly was simple.

Shifter feel is great though something I have to get used to. The shift boot makes the shifter feel a Tad weird because now it rubs and is audible. Not a big problem but my finger nerves protest ever so slightly. Their choice to make throw reduction mostly vertical was a wise decision in my opinion.

Worth the 200 bucks? Yes. Yes. Yes. Part quality is solid, throw reduction is very admirable, install shouldn't take long (probably 1-3; it took me 5 hours because I kept dropping things in the shifter boot hole. And I accidentally undid the spring tension but eventually figured that out). And the instruction manuals are typed in good English. Great job steeda!

I haven't installed the kit but, from looking at Red's pics, I would say a Dremel with cutting disc and a vacuum would be ideal to do the required trimming.

I think I'm going to order the bracket only and I'll report back with how it works out.

A 35% throw reduction is about what the kits in the MK1 and MK2's saw. So being able to get that for $65 is bad ass lol

But the full kit with the tri-ax and bracket is always the best way to go.
