Does anyone know if the DCT was torture tested at 170lb/ft or if thats just a claim. General rule of thumb: Beleive nothing until people start having problems. I'm not saying it can handle 250lb/ft but in todays market you really never know. It's going to be a really interesting year as far as new discoveries are concerned.

They would have used an air fuel gauge that was clamped onto the exhaust tip. One thing to consider though is with the sensor so far down stream it will always read leaner, sometime by as much as a half point.

In my experience with tuning DI ecotec motors is they can run leaner then a counter part car with injectors. This car may see best gains from increased timing more so then leaning out the fuel tables. And don't forget we have the VCT to tunes as well [evil]

I was thinking that RedFocz. Just tune the vct so it won't adjust to so lean.

You need to STOP doing WOT runs till you can get some fuel to that car , your doing over 14 AF till 5000 then not much better after

You will blow that engine with those AF , you should NEVER mod an engine like this that you cannot tune , for "some shops" its all about the money and selling parts reguardless of the out come ,

I would NOT install anything to these new Foci till there was tuning out , THEY WILL GO LEAN and you can and some have already hurt these engines , they came from Ford to lean and adding these type of parts makes the issue worse

I dont agree at all , The AF on this engine shouldnt be higher then 13.2 and thats the HIGH side , they run just as good at 12.9 to 13 , doing the wide band at the tip reads the same as at the header unless you have a big leak some where , the CAT changes it some but with these new CATS they seem to not change things as much as the older ones when heated

The new Durates still has an Injector its just moved to in the Cyl vs in the intake runner , AF should still be the same tho , This is nothing more then the Mazda engine and I have done a lot of R&D with this engine already

VCT is easy and doesnt do as much with the engine in gains as people might think they will , Intake needs to be changes and a LOT of fuel added , Ford will ba making ECU changes for this any time now

Have you dyno'd other gen3 that have the same problem? or could it just be a single case of a bad a/f ratio

Your posts have always wowed me, and everything you've said is true. Have all the Mk3s been having the same problem with being lean?

The other thing that is missing because we dont have his stock numbers is what was the a/f ratio before, if they were the same then it is not aftermarket parts causing the problem.

While I will agree that it was running lean up until 4500 rpm's, what we need to do is to get rid of the power enrichment delay that way does not run lean up until 4500 under wide open throttle. And while I agree the 13.2 is a little lean I always shot to hit between 12.7-.12.9 for N/A motors.

Also I don't think because there currently no tuning available that companies shouldn't develop parts. If that is the case then the market would stifle and tuning companys may not bother cracking the ecm if it doesn't look like a market is there
