Recall for 2012 Ford Focus

I logged into Ford Owner just now and had a recall notice alert.

ID: 12S29

Title: PASSENGER SIDE WIPER MOTOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR

Not sure if this is specific to the rain sensing wipers... I just took my car in... Guess I'll have to take it in again.

Oh wow! I wonder if that's for the wiper that doesn't always wipe. If it is, I just thought it was because it was cold out that it didn't wipe.

It must be trim specific because there is no recall notice for my S.

I've got the recall notice on owner.ford (October build) as well.

Need an oil change soon, anyway.

Have you considered the possibility that it depends on the production date rather than the trim level?

This only applies to cars that were built on or before 10/18/11.

The trim level is irrelevant.

A seal plug (to keep out water/moisture) may be missing on the electrical connector for the wiper motor (passenger side only).
