It's just a glitchy little bug sometimes, I think, is all.. The computers in this car all get a little tripped up sometimes. At least your car has reverse sensors... I get the odd "No reverse camera found" message now and again in MFT, which I don't have

I get the rear sensors error once every few weeks, I'd say.

Oh, and cleaning the sensors won't help... the display just trips up. And no, the reverse lights don't stay on.

I've had this happen several times on my 3-4 week old Titanium. I know what causes it and can re-create the issue. When I get in the car, push button to start, and shift to reverse before the trip monitor screen appears, then shift to drive, the Rear Park Aid on/off message will stay on the trip monitor screen.

If I wait until trip monitor screen appears after starting car to initially shift into reverse, the Rear Park Aid message appears and disappears after shifting to drive.

The only way I have been able to get the message to go away when it's stuck on the screen is to turn off car and restart. It appears to strictly be a timing issue with shifting to reverse before the computer displaying the screen message.

I weirdly had something similar,

The other day when I put my car in reverse a yellow screen came up that said
"Reverse Camera Not Available See Your Dealer (Or something similar)"

Since I don't have a reverse camera I thought it was weird. Haven't seen it before or since.

Hey folks,

If you're exhibiting these backup sensor symptoms, shoot me a PM so I can get you escalated to your regional Customer Service Managers. They'll reach out to your dealers and ensure these issues get resolved. I'll need your VIN, estimated mileage, preferred servicing dealer, and daytime phone number.

Thanks,
-Crystal

Not yet... I'd say make a record of it and after x number of issues, contact Ford. There could be a sensor malfunction, or a glitch in the controlling software. Probably the former but it could be anything...

Anyone notice if it only happens when they put car in reverse immediately after starting car? Does it to me every time. If I wait 3-5 after starting car, it works normal.

Did anyone ever get a resolution to this problem?
My 2012 does this quite often, and so far I've only gotten the "we cannot duplicate the problem" line from the dealer. The problem is, my warranty expires in 3 weeks and this drives me crazy.
It has nothing to do with the cleanliness of the sensors - if they're snow covered or dirty it will beep at you constantly when put it in reverse.

Make them document the problem. If the problem existed before the warranty expired, it should still be covered after.
Discuss this with the dealer.

Just to follow up on this for anyone that has a similar problem.
There was an update that was done to the instrument cluster display - I'm assuming the same one that addresses the display not "booting up" at start up.
This has cured my problem 100%.
