Would the quality of hid's effect if i am recieving errors on the dash? I don't get a dimmer bulb out error message anymore. Now I randomnly get (hillstart assist not available) error. And it sometimes cuts the radio display out. Can anyone give me the website or name of the hid's that work for you? I really think the quality of my current ballasts are questionable.

Just wait until the ST comes out. They use the same style lights but with black housings.

What have most people chosen here? 35w or 55w? Was there a huge difference between stock and a 35w HID
?

In addition, tint does not bother other drivers on the road. I think the reason this is such a flame-ish issue is because people feel the need to put on these headlights that are exceedingly bright and downright blinding to others on the road. Not only does it look stupid, but it's dangerous. At least a limo tint is not hindering other's ability to drive around them.
Well, yes and no. The issue with tint - and the reason my cars have not been tinted - is that it limits other drivers' ability to see in. I like to be able and want to be able to do so for the sake of 'communication', and thus I return the favor to other drivers.

If I'm approaching a car waiting to turn out of a side street into my lane for example, I can see if the driver is paying attention and sees me. If I have to motion to another driver, they have to be able to see in my car. Excessively dark windows isolate the drivers from one another and require more assumptions, as to whether or not others are paying attention, noticing what's around them, and so on.

There's my little tangent.

Back to HIDs, I've had people ask if I'll be retrofitting some to my Focus, and honestly I see no reason to do so. The OEM lighting is superb in my opinion, and is perfectly bright as-is.

I agree! In addition, if a car with ridiculously dark tinting is parked on a corner, I can't actually see through the car to see if there are any cars behind it. That means I get to play the fun game of creep-and-brake for 3 minutes before I can make my left turn. Although, I suppose this is really due more to poorly-designed intersections more than tinted windows.

I have ordered my HIDs but have wondered about the lamp error problem. So I had an idea to test and it worked. The HID uses one side as a relay to turn them on. The error comes form the side not being used.
So why not use it for a engine bay light? My car does not have one so I am going to add one. I tried a single filament bulb hooked up to the head light wires and there was not a lamp error.
Now I will have to test over a longer period of time to make sure it will always work. Wanted to share this with others that were having this problem.

That's a great find and idea! I'll be playing around with that empty plug in.
