20 here. Already had my fun with a Mazdaspeed 3, fully bolted and pro-tuned, had her for 3 years... $55 a tank premium was a bit much to only drive 250-260mi. a tank, and after getting into an accident with the car I never drove it the same again. Cut my losses, got a Focus, enjoying going 290-300mi. per tank and not even spending $40 a fillup.
Plus, I'm a nerd before I'm a driver, so I enjoy the technology more in this than the MS3.
23. Needed a sensible, well balanced (power vs mpg) car after totaling my Cobalt. GM seems to build fancy trashcans compared to Ford. I don't need a sports car, foot is already heavy enough from learning to drive in a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and 1976 'Vette. This Focus is plenty enough.... until its paid off and I upgrade to an RS.
Considered this or the Jetta Sportwagen or the Escape. Moving 4 times a year means practicality is high on my list. I'd have gone with the Ranger but the fuel economy sucked, or the Mustang if insurance wasn't going to be $9,000 per year.
I bought the Focus because I wanted good fuel economy mixed with good driving performance and technology. In my opinion, it is the best looking C-Segment car.
Can't wait to have that stunning trapezoidal grill outside my front window.
