So I was directed to this thread after drooling over the Billet grille. Got some silver pinstripes today (the exact ones that were specified here) and I'm curious if you followed the application instructions exactly... ie, it says apply from 60-80 degrees F out of direct sunlight, but it's like 86-90 out right now... should I wait for it to cool down?

Alright, thanks! I've been itching to do this ever since I read the thread this morning soooo I'm not really interested in waiting until it's cooler out (and darker) and I'm not doing it in my suddenly-bee-filled garage either.

HA! I did it in 50 degree weather and light rain. Still holding on even after many washings. Not so hard, just be sure the grill is clean.

[QUOTE=raptor1956;4188127]Well I decided to try RED pin striping on the grill as a contrast to the Sonic Blue. I think it's still missing something and I'd like to see what I can do about some red details around the wheels.

You could also run a red line around the base of the car between the blue and black panels. It will pop but not break the blue up top. With a subtle red on the rims it would really stand out well.

I like this idea and it matches the wheels...do you make these strips yourself or order them?

Its regular vinyl pin striping that can be had at any auto parts store. I applied mine when it was warm out and in direct sunlight. The only thing i must say is make sure the areas where your going to apply the striping is very clean. Mine is still holding strong. Ive got some nicks here and there from rocks but thats about it:)

Nice red but as you said,... you definitely need more considering its the only red on the car. Good job.

Here is before and after (well more like after and before since newer is on the left haha)

and here she is just after I finished her.

Ended up sitting on the floor of a parking garage for an hour and a half doing this. Probably wouldn't have taken that long if I had done some actual measuring or something haha.
Washed her right and dried the grille like 10 minutes before applying, and it went on great!
