Came across some offical Focus 2011 end of production date and 2012 order/scheduling and Job 1 dates from a poster over on BlueOvalNews who works in fleet.

The following information was released yesterday via the Fleet Distribution News Bulletin - May 28, 2010

11/05/10 - 2011 MY Job Last Date (the end of the C170)

09/06/10 - 2012 MY Order Bank Open Date get you orders in
12/09/10 - 2012 MY Scheduling Begins
01/03/11 - 2012 MY Job #1 Date

Couple of observations:

The placement and shape of the parking brake handle is just hideous.

The asymmetrical contour (center console, outer trim) of the trim ring, just doesn't do it for me. The surround trim had to be relieved for the parking brake. As above, it's hideous.

The yellow stitching (yeah, I know, the car is yellow) is a glaring eyesore. It looks gay. Hideous.

I like the engine bay...nice.

The most egregious eyesore; the dash center console. It looks like it was designed by a 10 year old kid, speeding on his sixth bowl of Saturday morning Sugar Pops.

That should do it. Don't like it. YMMV. Hope it appeals to others on here, whose tastes are different. Maybe it would draw some praise (from me) in a different color. Time will tell.

great pics, that Ecoboost looks pretty big, can't wait for reviews.
There's lots of parts from current Euro MkII model in this global MkIII (inside, engine). That's good, less chances to go wrong, cheaper!

Maybe the lower trim levels will be more to your liking. Agree on the hand brake position, but compromises had to be made to satisfy global market preferences, eg: large cup holders for USA, and location preference of the front heated seat dials, so instead of designing two separate centre tunnels we get a compromise. One positive regarding the forward hand brake is that one will not drive away with the hand brake on so easily

These pictures are of the lower trim level 2012 Focus, sorry the pics do not show the gear-shift centre tunnel area, but gives an idea how the toned down centre IP area looks.

It's really starting to grow on me. I actually like the interior. Call me crazy but it sort of reminds me of a Lamborghini, with the materials used and its colorful stitching. LOVE IT!!! But I also agree that the center console area is a little too bling bling and busy. I just wish there was a mix of the upper trim level materials WITH toned down blacks/grays (instead of shiny/chrome crap everywhere).

The exterior styling is also starting to grow on me. Although I think I'd still want to lower it just a tad, but that's just me lol. I wish I can say 100% for sure that this'll be my next car... but the more I see how luxurious it is, the more I'm beginning to think how I probably won't be able to afford it. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it started at $18k. I'll keep my eye on it though...
