I think it looks way better than the last monstrosity. I actually like the sedan, and I don't really like any sedan focus'. The front kinda looks like the rs to me. Disc brakes, 5lugs, 6speed and the interior is probably the best in focus ever. At least in the pictures the car looks good, doesn't look like it has a lift kit like past focus'. Looks very upscale. Interesting to see if they throw the ecoboost in there, maybe after a year.

i'm a fan. it sgot the right body cues and a rather large wheel/tire combo which means i only really neeed to buy better rubber to get some better stick out of it. cant wait to see what fs werks and massive cook up for the new model.

Posted via FF Mobile I think some of you have to have alittle more faith in Mullaly and new ford. i think what theyve been doing is awesome and they have been trying to make the best of the best cars in every segment. The best pony car, the best trucks, the best midsize (north american car of the year and mt car of the year: ford fusion). They brought back a performance tqurus that is blazing fast at the drag strip and can even eat up mhstangs with a simple tune. They brought us turbo and twinturbo engines. They brought us high class interiors and their quality has sky rocketed. They brought and are bringing us the euro cars we wanted for so long (fiesta, transit connect: north american truck of the year). They are bringing us awesome technology that no other automaker has attempted and some only done by the top luxary brands. They have brought us co tinous five star saftey ratings and continue to make our cars safer to drive. Ford is doing great things and as ive said ever since Mullaly took over, we need to give it time, we cant just have everything at once.

There are things i dont like about the new focus...but there were things i didnt like about the mki focus either. But it grew on us did it not? The stupid grill turn signals, the giant orange side markers. The extra overhang of the bumpers. it grew on us and we bought them anyway and those cars brought us together here. We either kept them stock or modified to our liking. But there was something that also brought most of us together here. The focus has always been knocked on by other people as being ugly, a fucus, w.e. But we ffers knew we had something special, the greatness of the focus went more then skin deep. We had this ridiculously fun to drive car that even tho wasnt the fastest, it drove amazingly. We saw it as a great platform for the aftermarket and modded them. We loved our little focus even if it did have a few shortcomings.

Now we have the same focus as the rest of the world...no different bumpers, or headlights or turn signals etc. We asked for no drum brakes, we got four discs, we asked for better tansmissions, we got two six speed manuals and one of them has an auto mode. We asked for a lower ride height, compared to what we got now the space between the tire and the fender is barely noticable. No three bar chrome grill...non, we all complained and were sure Ford was going to shove it on the focus, but even the sedan lacks it. But not once have I seen someone say...Thank God Theres no chrome grill!!!! Ford has given us so much that we have begged for for so long and this debut was only the beginning. Ford showed what seems to be just a portion ofthe ford focus and has left alot of specifications and othrr models for another time...possibly geneva. All I ask is to havr a little faith, you can voice your negative opinions of course...its a forum thats what its meant for, but try to have a little faith and give things time.

This post is not directed at people with negative comments, it is directed at those who think the focus as an entire package is a huge FAIL bc of a few little things that it is lacking or have not even been announced yet. Imo these foci have given us so much that we have been asking for...and what was shown at detriot yesterday is only a piece of the pie.

like/dont like Mk3 look-well here's why!

OK, I don't like rear lights and interior. Everyone of you have it's own opinion about new focus and I wanted to say this.
This is the first focus

and this is the second

the third is just fine. (see, the door mirrors are almost the same-100% ford-should be cheap)

MkIII is normal new model but the "problem" is new kinetic design.
Look fiesta for example
Mk5

Mk6

and new Mk7

The mk7 looks way to different than whole Fiesta thing. imagine that bmw make new 3 series which would look 100% different than normal BMW 3 serie look. that happend to new focus and fiesta.
But that's better than Volkswagen group. Their every new model looks more like FACELIFT than NEW model.
Mk3

Mk4

Mk5

Mk6

Untill I see mk3 in person the Mk2(EU model) is better (not much) looking. damn I hate future, even BMW M division are making turbo engines after 30 years of NA high rev models...

You know its going to happen. I was saying the same thing - another hate thread about the new model. Everybody complains about the euro focus not coming over here, then when Ford brings it, they still complain.

There is no satisfying some people.

I might have missed something here, correct me if I'm wrong...

The global powertrain lineup for the new Focus will include a range of state-of-the-art Ford EcoBoost™ four-cylinder turbocharged direct injection (DI) engines – including the 1.6-liter unit in Europe and a choice of advanced and improved Duratorq TDCi common-rail diesel engines, all of which offer reductions in fuel consumption of between 10 and 20 percent compared to the outgoing models.

For the NAIAS preview, Ford is showing a completely new 2.0-liter gasoline engine for the North American market that features DI and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) for enhanced performance and fuel efficiency. The new 2.0-liter DI Ti-VCT engine is up to 20 horsepower more powerful than the current 2.0 Duratec I-4 unit while contributing to projected fuel economy gains of more than 10 percent.

So one of the cars on the platform at NAIAS IS TURBO?

Posted via FF Mobile Not sure no ones opened up the hoods yet. I think they both the new 2.0l tho. I just watch a vid on youube amd read a few more articles that the 1.6l ecoboost engine will be an optional engine. Im not sure how mass produced the engines are yet...i believe that factory where its being built is still going thru some things before full production commences.

I was under the impression that the ecoboost option would not be available at launch, but rather a year or two after. I could be wrong though.

well sorry.. the car looks great but fords holding out on us! the euro version they gave us is the grandma version. it'll barely go any faster that the us models we have now. why dose europe get the RS 2.5 turbo version and not us? i mean some other people only like cars for the looks and all that fancy blue tooth stuff they dont need. but personaly, i dont care about looks or extras. i like fast, nimbal cars and thats it. i could care less if they make it look like a big weiner! haha others will be laughing when there just a dot in my rearview! :D VVRRROOOOOMMM!!!!
