Best headlight bulbs?

Thinking it's time to replace my stock bulbs and was wondering what everyone uses. I bought some ses housings and want to change the bulbs before I swap them out for my chrome ones.

Has a lot of opinions about brands/models, and a few pics.

The brightest bulb isn't going to have long hours. I've had Hella's which are bright, 1 bulb burnt out in 9 months, so I replaced it & the other went out w/ in a couple of months, so I went w/ zxe's & have had them in for over a yr. They have a 1yr warranty & are easy to get(auto parts store) vs ordering them.

I've heard the zxes are just alot of marketing hype. I thought about going with leds but can't find any in the proper wattage range for under $150. I drive backroads mostly at night since I work 3rds so I like being able to see a ways down the road.

There's all kinds of marketing hype, just have to dig thru it & figure out the nitty gritty,= I thought about hids yrs ago & didn't want to the hassells of them, so them, What 9007 bulb to use, thats brighter then the oem style regular bulbs? I like the Hellas, the zxes are still going after a yr, which I think is great.

It does depend on what you are looking for in a bulb. I had the ZXEs in my 2011 Focus but after much research I chose Philip Extreme vision for my 2014 SE. The bulb is not tinted but is supposed to have a precision filament. The color temp is normal but supposed to give more light with the same lumens due to filament design/placement. The cost about the same as ZXEs and are supposed to last a bit longer. I was unable to find the link I saw on CandlePowerforums.com but they compared this bulb with Osram Nightbreaker. The Philips bulb edged out the competition. I did find this review
Battle of the Bulbs: OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited vs. Philips X-treme Vision | PowerBulbs
Good luck.

P.S I have photos in my gallery of how my car looks with these bulbs. I also use Hella Optilux XY as my fogs also in H11.

Thanks. I actually forgot I had the zxes in my truck. I found some pics on my laptop from before and after I installed them and I remember them not being much different. I'm glad I didn't make the mistake of buying them again

The brighter the bulb, the shorter it's life span. Don't buy the Silverstar Ultras or ZXEs if you expect them to last years. You'll be lucky if you get 4 months out of them.

X2. I put a set of Ultras in my Ninja. They last an even shorter time in a motorcycle. But....I put a set of regular Silverstars in my Explorer Sport Trac in 2006 and they were still burning when I traded it in last April. 137,000 miles. Can't even explain that.
