What are some winter updates/upgrades/modifications you have done to your MK2?

Name some of the upgrades, updates, or modifications to your MK2 you performed this winter.

It can be anything.

Last week I got a new battery. I know not interesting, but still.

AutoCraft Gold Battery from Advance Auto.

If I were to upgrade spark plugs, what are my options?

You don't need 'upgrades'...just make sure all maintenance is up to date. It's sometimes worth having synthetic engine and tranny oil (if manual transmission). I can feel the tranny shifter move a bit with more resistance when really cold outside.

Make sure you have a winter kit in the trunk (candles, jumper cables, blanket, etc.) and a spare bottle of w/w fluid.

Other than that, the best is to have four winter tires on steel wheels.

Snow tires and Mobil1 0w-20 (Meets Ford's spec).

Most important being snow tires.

I agree. Especially check the strength (freezing point) of your coolant, and always keep at least a quarter tank of gas in the car so that the lines don't freeze.

Installed a remote starter, definitely comes in handy up in mn. Although it is a bit picky, being that my car is a manual trans, the arming process is a tad confusing to get used to.

^ maybe not urs but some remote starters tie into the neutral switch so they only start in neutral on man. tranny cars.
