Was missing the tire jack screw. I'm sure some of u too. It's not the same as the one that holds the wheel. No wonder there are two threaded holes. Ford should have made the storage solution better. Check it out: http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/20...ge_a_flat_tire

I have two threaded holes but mine only came with the wheel screw.

Mine was missing it from the factory. Strange.

I got rid of it pretty quickly for a full sized spare.

Due to running out of space in my parents' garage, I am now riding around with the donut in the trunk too. Hmm.

Makes me think. If a lot of people are missing them, even original owners, maybe there was a change in production to go without it. Judging by the pictures, it appears a couple of storage setups are shown. One thing is for sure - using the tire bolt to secure both doesn't work well. And u want the jack secured so u don't have it bumping around against the donut rim. That's why we have two threaded holes. It's not hard, but a little awkward the way the jack is stored. I don't need it any more complicated. I went and bought the jack securing screw at the dealer, but it was around $15 :(

I mean a spare jack is for changing a tire not doing really any other work. I hope all of us are smart enough to not get under a unsupported car.

It's good to have options. Sometimes AAA is busy, and I'd rather change a flat than wait. And the spare tire and jack don't take any trunk space (when stored in their place). One just has to make sure not to get under the car, which you shouldn't have to replacing a tire. The other thing is not go over the speed rating of the donut and use it the least time/distance possible (i.e. drive to a tire shop ASAP).

I hope so too, but people don't get the message sometimes. Always use jack stands, and lower the car onto them. Even so, never place large forces onto the car, because it can still topple the jack over. And I always place the removed wheel under the rocker area or suspension area just in case.
