08-11 fogs w/ high beam

Hey guys, wondering if there is a way to keep fog lights on my 2011 SEL on whenever the switch is activated. Meaning they will not turn off when I switch to high beams. I decided to just get brighter halogen bulbs and stop putting HIDs in stock housings, but I will leave the HIDs in the foglights for ditch light.

I read some guides but it seems like it only covers up to the 2005 model but I could be wrong.

I have HIDs in my foglights and they would make my highbeam much more useful if they were on.

If there is no way to do it I could always use my relay harness and wire a switch into it and do it manually and draw the power through the battery and not the stock wiring, but I might as well ask about it first.

Thanks for any help!

also any suggestions on brightest halogens with good life? I know the brighter the less life the bulbs have but I would like a happy medium. The only option we sell at work is the sylvania silverstar (not ultras or ZXEs) but I head the life of them sucks.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe there is an orange/grey wire that connects to the switch. Cut that and I believe you can use your brights with your fogs (at least that is how mine are wired in).

If it's as simple as disconnecting a shut off wire that activates when you swap to high beams you are my hero.

My only worry is usually the reason they don't want your fogs on when highs are on is so you don't overload the wiring?

But it does only jump up 5-10w when you switch to high beams.

But since I have 35w hids in the fogs, didn't I technically unload the wiring 20w by stepping down from the 55w halogen bulb?

So it shouldn't matter right?

Some states have laws that say you can't use high beams and fog lights at the same time - that's the reason for the fog lights turning off when you turn on the high beams.

You would be right sir. I believe I have heard a few of my friends being pulled over because of this. I cannot think of a logical explanation as to why that would be illegal? I think it is illegal to drive with fogs on in OK and CA if the weather is not bad/low visibility (PRLY MORE).

Ya I did not have the factory fogs but installed the factory Ford kit. I did not hook up the Orange/Grey wire and now I can use my fogs and brights at the same time.
