Too all with HIDs

Hey guys, I put HIDs in my foglights because face it HIDs are the best thing you can do to your car for night time driving.

Now there are some problems with HIDs in stock housings. Some stock housings can handle HID intensity and focus them properly. Some however spread light everywhere and blind people when you pass them, drive by them, or pull up behind them.

How often do you get high beamed with your HIDs?
Does anyone ever complain?
Does light spread everywhere or it is focused like the stock halogens?

The reason I put them in the fog lights for now is I know that won't blind people. But does anyone have any pictures of HIDs in their stock housing and the light output versus stock?

Any help is greatly appreciated as I don't want to blind other people, but if it requires the projector headlights I may skip on it for now.

Thanks!

ive got 6k 35w in my fogs. alot of ppl refer to them as ditch lights when they are anything but 3k i think. but the name serves it right cuz the sides of the car are just as bright as the fronts. ive never gotten flashed and never gotten pulled over (i live about 3 blocks away from a police station, so i drive by cops almost everynight!) ill get some pics of them tonight, but sorry i dont have any stock pics or bulbs.

How well does the 35W kit work in the headlights? I have the 35W 6000K in my fog lights and I want to put another 6000K in my headlights. I love the way they look on the top and bottom together but I am not sure 35W would be strong enough (may be wrong). Would be nice to have a side by side pic of the 35W and the 55W headlight throw. How well do you like them Misfire/Where did you pick them up (DDM I am assuming)

If you did pick them up from DDM, would you say full size or slim ballast? I would lean toward full size just because it's cheaper but I don't know if there is any performance/reliability difference.

I had 6000k 35w HIDs in the headlights and 3000k 35w in the fogs and got flashed maybe once in a years time. I had 8000k 35w in my Denali suv and got flashed all the time. I guess the focus reflector focuses the light on the road better then other cars...

btw if you order HIDs now for your fogs and/or headlights when you upgrade to a projector system you will need to buy new bulbs due to the projector bulb inlet being a different size than our stock inlet.

Stock Headlights: H13 (bi-xenon for high AND low beams...if you do not buy bi-xenon you only have low beams)
Stock fogs: H11
Eagle Eye projector (commonly sold on ebay): H9
Projector retrofit: usually H1

i got the 6k 35w in my headlights also. i unfortunately jumped at buying mine too quickly. i am okay with my purchase but this thread (NEW to FF. Question about 2008 CCFL Projectors.) explains what to buy correctly (bulbs, etc.) the 35w kits are okay in my opinion but i'd go with the 55w kit since i think everybody has them. mine are ebay versions (icebeamers) when i get ahead on my bills, i'm going to pick up the ddm versions. mine have been acting up (taking forever to warm up and flickering). so moral of the story...don't buy anything without checking here:)

i had 35w 10k bulbs for headlights and 35w 3k bulbs for fogs, and at least once a night i got flashed, decided to stop being like everybody else and just buy some actual HID housings, ended up getting machs, best purchase i've ever made by far for my vehicle.

edit: i realize i'm in the 2nd gen section, so machs are irrelevant. but a true HID housing seems to be the best thing to buy.

im running 8k's in my stock head lights and fog lights, and i get flashed every once an awhile, iv had a cop pull me over just to ask me where i got mine at so that he can get a set for his daughters focus lol, and i had problems with the bigger ballist's, so i changed to slim and no problems, so i highly recommend getting the slim ones

5k headlamps and 3k fogs. If you run 10k, I'd flash you.
