Putting 2010 S Model on craigslist.....

Well, the economic waves are now crashing hard against my little ship and so I must put my Beloved little Ford Focus S Model up for sale.

I'm at this point settling on craigslist to put the message out there, but would like to know your thoughts on what you feel would be a sensible price I should ask for her. ...

I bought her new off the local dealership's lot for $15,108 out the door almost a year ago. She only has a CD player and fm/am radio and air-conditioning, but no fancy wheel hubs or anything.

She's got around 4,000 miles on her but she has sustained about a $1,000 of damage in her hood due to high winds blowing my motorcycle over. (Actually, I"m fairly certain the people in the apartment below me shoved the bike over, though I'll spare you why I think that's true.)

Anyway, like I said, I just want a fair price for her and nothing more. Might you folks chime in and tell me what I should tell the local craigslist people what I would like for her?

Thanks in advance for your much valued advice!!

Lets get some pics and options, then I'll tell you what a dealer will ask for it, then take 3k off of that

Go to Edmunds.com and under their Used Car section they have a 'True Market Value' [TMV] apprasier program. It is run with AutoNation's figures.

When I got a trade in appraisal recently, it matched under TMV's 'clean' condtion.

Assuming you have full coverage auto insurance, that should have been covered by your policy. It's a lot easier to fix it before trying to sell

I have $500 deductible and the first time in happened the repair estimate was around $470. Then the second time it happened the damage (to my eyes) looked about the same as what happened the first time.

I had someone email me and say they'd give $7,500 for it but I don't know, that's slightly less than half for what I paid for it out the door and it seems like too little.

I tried yesterday to figure out how to make the Samsung file-loader (or whatever it's call) work using my Apple but try as I might I couldn't figure it out. (I always have problems when instructions aren't aren't 1-million-percent complete or when they say to look for a particular thing and it ain't to be found.)

Sorry, no pics.

I got offered $7500 trade in for my 77,000 mile 2009, so you got a low ball price, don't sell for that!

Don't take less than $12000.
