$400 Feeler

Suggestions on where to put the money? Im going to try and run stock class SCCA Solo so things like CAI and lowering springs are out of the question. Vehicle is DD so I was toying with the idea of some extra wheels so I can run dedicated track tires. Whatcha guys think?

HIDs, Rims, or a Sound System. That's only thing I can think of with $400

To do HIDs legally will cost more than 400 so thats out. My sound system cost me less than 100 so that is already done. I was thinking along the lines of a rear sway, track wheels, etc...

Lightweight wheels will make the most noticealble difference for that amount of money if you're not going to touch the suspension or powertrain.

If you got the Ford Racing suspension kit maybe you could fool them by showing them the Ford emblems on there .

For shame! haha Well I can run any shock I want as long as its "factory design". Unfortunately they are pretty clear on definitions of standard equipment. And Ford just couldn't be cool enough to slap those on for me during the assembly process. Yeah I could sneak some stuff but I'd rather know how poor of a driver I really am.

I do like the idea of some wheels, I was looking through the for sale section to see what deals are out there. On that note does anyone know how much the factory wheels weigh? I have the 15" alloy wagon wheel looking ones, I know they aint that heavy but maybe I can save some weight there and translate to quicker lap times.

Is CAI not allowed under the stock class?, but they will let you add a sway bar?

Yes. Stock class is funny. You can not modify the original air path (i.e. CAI or SRI) but you may change or remove the air filter. You can also modify ONE sway bar and use any sway bar bushing. So I would leave the front alone and add a rear.

If you got some free time and wanna read it, here is the rule book. http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...ry_reduced.pdf

I would say, RSB, some Rota Slipstream's in 15" or 16" would cut 5+ lbs from each corner. What about the lower engine mount? Could you change out the factory rubber for poly?
That's all I can think of besides removing all the weight you can.

Well I cant cut weight too much. And I can't change out bushings for stock class. The more I talk to you guys and the more I read the rule book I'm thinking about prepping it for street touring instead. Its the next class up and I can do the cool stuff like SRI and rear disc conversion, I think....

ST will not be all that fun unless you get good at driving and are willing to spend money to some extent. I'm in street touring and I wish I'd left my car stock and learned to drive then went to ST.
