you probably won't have many helpers here due to the vast majority being american or canadian models. i've been on the forum for a while and yours is actually the first euro i hahve seen. We do not have the heater plug on our cars as there is not a diesel model in north america. or at least not supposed to be lol

Sadly we didn't get the MK2 Focus in US or Canada, in a general sense our 08-11 is a rebodied MK1.

I ordered some overlays for my '03 from this site and I caught a glimpse of this. It looks like the diesel icon is above to the left from the 150 mph mark.

The icon is universal I believe. It not lighting could indicate a fault in the system or just a bad bulb. a dealerships scan tool can verify and test the system.

Sounds normal. It is yellow to tell you to wait , red to tell you the status of the plugs/manifold heater , then off so you can start. It is a high current system controlled by many relays. They use a small load to control a big load. The clicking noise is the relay turning on.

Yah I have had the snowflake on other vehicles but they were not diesels. They illuminated to show possibility for ice forming on the road. They must have switched from the coil because of confusion with a "bulb out" indicator.
