Paint / Design issue (rear doors)!

Hi, have anyone had an issue with the paint near the rear doors where they flare out! It appears that they to me have a design issue! I have a black 09 focus and it faded out after time/use of km's. They stood to it first and also installed a "kit" that was supposed to fix the problem, not so, we now have 70000 kms on the car and the same problem exists today! with the plastic tape or "kit" tape coming off and the paint also slowly coming off the car as well.
Have anyone had this happen to them? Did they get it resolved? If so, what did you do? What did Ford do? What should I do? It doesn't seem that the dealer wants to do anything else for us!

You could take it to a body shop and have it repainted.

The paint is only under warranty for the first 12,000 miles under one owner. So trying to get Ford or the dealer to help you isn't going to get any results.

Paint is fickle. If two cars painted on the same day by the same person with the same paint are driven in two different parts of the country, the paint will act differently for each car depending on its environment.

You're in Canada so if you've ever gotten road salt or any sort of corrosive material on the paint that wasn't cleaned off properly or if you don't wash your car often or use low grade waxes.... there are a million things that can contribute to paint fade.

Yah my flares on my 08 coupe have done the same thing. It apostasy the paint is really thin. Almost looks as if it wasn't clear coated or there was a problem with the rock coating....

Had mine done as well. but wouldn't have bought a car that would continue to have this problem. It's a design flaw if you ask me! I think that Ford should get a fix for it other than the 3m tape. the tape is peeling off mine and another focus that I seen driving around here! Regardless of whats on the roads, can't expect to have a car sittin' around lookin' pretty in the driveway can we? Wife uses it to travel to work! Thats what it was bought for! I'm just frustrated and was wondering if anyone else is about this issue!
Thanks for the replies!

Like I said, the paint is warrantied up to the first 12,000 miles for the first owner.

If you want it fixed, you can have a body shop paint the affected area and blend it in.
