Interrior color

Right now the majority of the interior color of my 2011 ford focus is a tannish color I would like to replace/change it to black. The seats shouldn't be a problem but doesanyone know how to do the carpet and roof??

They make dyes and sprays but how well they work, i'm not sure. Id suggest redoing the roof/headliner with a faux suede or something similar in a dark color of your choice.

I would stay away from the dyes and sprays. I am sure it works well from the factory when it is being manufactured but for an alternative to straight up replacing it I wouldn't think they work very well. Best I could suggest is finding a salvage car and pulling out the carpet/headliner (seats if they got em). Anyone have experience using the Dyes or spray?

OEM is the way to go, BE FOREWARNED! it will be VERY expensive. I am in the middle of doing the swap from tan to black and I got a STEAL on it, $600 for everything out of a '08. Can't help on the headliner as the ones out of the '08 were tan and is not getting changed out. The dash is a PITA to change out and you have to be careful with the airbags, carpet has to be cut or everything must be taken out and I am talking to the metal on all sides.

The cost from Ford will run anywhere from $3,500-$5,000 for everything and that's not including instillation which is far from fun on your own. Heck the door panels alone are $500 a piece, I got lucky with mine, it's out of a totaled '08 and the guy needed money for a mustang build so I was able to get it for cheap. But it is well worth the time for me to get it and it looks WAY better than the tan. Good luck to you and I hope you find one.

^_^

BTW for those following on my install I now have the dash, center console, four door panels and a bunch of trim installed. I expect it to all be done sometime next weekend if the guy I bought it from is available for an install.

Sprays work ok for little projects I wouldn't use them to do a whole roof or carpet

There's plenty of late model wrecks in salvage yards, check sites like copartfinder.com and car-part.com

2008-11 cars are too new and pricey [value not depeciated enough] for 'U Pull It' yards, yet. Older, cheaper [over 8 y/o ish] cars go there to get [usually vandalized] torn up before crushing. Also, many 'U pull' cars have open windows with ruined interiors. Have to get there when a 'fresh' beater comes in.
