Problem With Light Housings

I looked under my hood today and found the the brackets that hold my headlight housings to the car are cracked. I don't know how it happened or why but they are plastic and obviously breakable.

I called my local ford dealer and they said that they would replace the whole light but it would cost $250.

Is there an easier way to fix this problem? My headlight is perfectly fine, just these brackets are cracked on the inside of the hood.

One of mine is like that too. I have a plastic welding kit from harbor freight I'm going to try on it.

I wish there were metal replacements I could get somewhere but that's unlikely. Getting a welding kit sounds like a good idea though.

The very top ones of mine are cracked. I am not sure why. I guess they just cracked. IT doesn't affect anything for me though I did have my right housing vibrate for a while. I took all of the bolts out and put them back in and it went away.

The top ones like you have in the pic are prone to breaking, almost everyones are broken. mine broke around 12k miles lol i just put epoxy on them and it worked great. now i have the eagle eye projectors though and even when i removed the stock ones the epoxy held them together

a fix without buying new lights is to just put large washers on the bolt and it holds the lights down

Just be aware that they likely broke because of overtightening combined with temperature fluctuations. You don't need to torque them down a lot - just enough so that they don't go anywhere. I only tighten them until they start giving resistance, then I go 1/2 a turn further.
