Hello Everyone,

I got a 2010 SES around 2 years ago. (this summer will be 2 years).
2 door. Black with black leather interior and the "moon and tune" package.
Heated seats and all that.

So far I haven't touched it. No mods or anything. Completely stock.

I will be completely honest and say that I am not a car guy. I have little to no knowledge of how to do what I want to do. However, recently with having friends who are really into cars and all, I've naturally become more interested in making a lot of mods to my car, and finding these forums was a blessing because I will need all the help/advice I can get.

Anyway, this is what I was just generally thinking along with what my friends have in mind...
8k HID's for my lights and fogs.
Window tint: back window, side windows and a curving strip along the top front.
Tint for my tail lights
Possibly a body kit later down the road.

Now here is where I have some questions...
The rims I have are the ford coupe rims. I have one scuff mark on one due to avoiding a soccer mom in a high school parking lot. What is the best way to fix that?
Also I want my rims to be black to match the color for my car. Should I plastidip them or go for painting them? I like the idea of painting them but I do not know the best way to do it or what kind of paint to buy.

My grill is gray-ish and I was thinking of either painting it black or replacing it with a carbon-fiber grill.
Along with the grill I wanted to find black Ford logos to replace the blue ones that came with the car.

This weekend I will hopefully be painting my calipers either blue or red, which will be my very first mod!

As far as performance goes I am completely lost.

I will post pictures as soon as I can if anyone is interested in seeing my SES

Thanks,
BDM

New, fellow FF member.

Those ideas for your possible mods are great! Seriously, you're off to a good start. The members here (we) are very helpful & friendly. I've personally have learned so much, so far. "No one does something without learning how to do it first." With that being said, ask away!!!

Nonetheless, do please! Post your SES pics.

Again,

Looks like a good start for the list of mods. I think plastidip is going to work a little better than paint, or if you like the way paint looks use plastidip first then paint. Chips/scratches will be much less noticable if you do both.

Sounds like you have a great car to start with (lots of options) so you are already ahead of me!

I would highly recommend projectors for your headlight if using HIDs. I know the headlights throw very bad glare if HiD is installed

Thanks.

Also,

For performance most people start with a CAI, or you can remove the factory air silencer for most of the CAI sound for free.

First take out the airbox

Then take off the silencer, it's only one screw.

Then it's up to you whether you want to start with a header or exhaust first. It's best to get a tune also, a member (Tom) does remote tuning for our cars and offers free updates. So if possible start with the intake and tune and add parts and adjust the tune as you go for max power and safety, as our cars have a tendency to run lean with a factory tune.
